Copy Editing and Line Editing ($0.025 per word)

Fiction: Most of what I edit is fiction, preferably fantasy and science fiction, and preferably adult fiction. 

However, I will happily edit YA.

Literary, contemporary fiction, and magical realism are okay, too. I can edit other genres on a case-by-case basis.

No erotica or historical fiction, please.

Non-fiction: I am happy to edit essays, dissertations, articles, pamphlets, and more!

Sensitivity Reading (rates vary)

I will read for depictions of:

Black/Blackness
Black (American) culture and slang
Representation of black women (note: I am cis-het)
Depression
Anxiety
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

$0.015 per word.

More than 100,000 will be an extra $0.01 per word.

Copy editing will be an additional $0.02 per word.

Interests:

I will read most things, but I much very much enjoy science fiction and fantasy. Literary, contemporary fiction, and magical realism are okay, too.
I prefer adult fiction but will also gladly read YA.

 

I may consider erotica or historical fiction on a case-by-case basis.

Developmental Edits ($0.025 per word)

Note: I do not perform developmental edits for dissertations.

I will help writers with the structure and development of their content. This includes paragraph organization, catching plot holes, helping with character development, etc.
